ABOUT
SAMUEL JOHN
Samuel John is a producer, mentor, and creative director with 25+ years of industry experience.
​
Beginning his career as a session drummer and DJ, Samuel’s diverse musical grounding was present from the outset. From Drum & Bass to Nu-Metal, he toured with various outfits, including Grammy-nominee Prash Mistry’s live dubstep band Engine-EarZ Experiment.
​
His live work included performances on BBC TV and Radio, at Maida Vale Studios, and at festivals including Glastonbury, Outlook, and Exit. Samuel found touring life exhilarating, but the centre of his universe lay elsewhere: the studio.
​
Ghost-writing for EDM artists throughout the 2000s, before moving into mix engineering, Samuel went on to build a thriving behind-the-scenes career in the sync music world, writing and producing for global sync publishers and trailer music houses.
​
Working anonymously under various monikers, NDAs, and buyout contracts, Samuel relished the creative freedom of his career in sync. Never tied to one style, his repertoire ranges from neoclassical orchestra to EDM trap.
​
With over 10,000 TV and film placements, his work spans major record labels, Hollywood movie trailers, and global entertainment companies, including Universal Music Publishing, BMG, Warner Bros, and Netflix.

As founder of Power Producer, he brings that experience into a new kind of creative development company — one built to help ambitious producers bridge the gap between where they are and where they want to be.
